Firstbase is building the core infrastructure that makes remote and hybrid work possible and sustainable for companies around the world.

Today, we serve both workers and businesses by doing two things: we give businesses the ability to instantly support remote workers with all the physical goods they need to do great work (from computers to furniture to company swag & perks), and we give workers the ability to pick and choose what they need for their unique circumstances, then return it when they leave. We’re already working with some of the world’s most interesting companies and delivering service in a couple dozen countries. That said, it’s still early and there’s much to build! You’ll start with the benefit of momentum and have broad opportunity to shape the future.

Firstbase is hiring a Product Manager responsible to drive improvements in our operations and execution processes. Your goal will be to work directly with key stakeholder groups throughout the company to identify problem spaces  and develop inventive and creative solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and overall customer experience. You’ll work closely together with different teams across our company including Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, Customer Success and Sales to create solutions & drive process improvements that ultimately lead to a better experience for our employees as they perform their daily tasks and ultimately better service for our customers as we improve quality and speed.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in defining what the job looks like and how you spend your time. That said, we expect it will include the following:

  • Accountable for delivering products that help internal business partners improve quality and efficiency in daily tasks, that in turn also benefit the customer.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to quantify the impact of various problems & challenges, then create & communicate a clear vision & roadmap of specific projects to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with our Engineering teams to guide the day-to-day delivery of software.
  • Lead the training, documentation, and other tactics necessary to help your internal customers successfully adopt the solutions you build.
  • Measure your team’s progress and evaluate the impact of your roadmap, and advocate for what we should do next based on a detailed understanding of the data.
  • Coordinate with our customer-facing Product team to ensure that solutions deliver on our external customers’ needs & roadmap and work seamlessly with our customer-facing product.

What We're Looking For

  • You have experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Asset Management Systems (AMS)  and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) and have worked closely with customers before to define, document and deliver on their needs.
  • You have experience working with identity management projects, including multi-factor authentication and SSO. Familiarity with OKTA is a plus.
  • You’re execution-oriented and obsess about the details. You don’t let edge cases slip by and know how to make sure all the bases are covered through robust testing strategy and planning
  • You’re a servant leader who has built strong, trusting relationships with your past teammates. You can prove it by pointing to ways you’ve helped internal customers become more successful in their jobs because of the solutions you’ve built.
  • You’re motivated by the velocity and messiness of an early-stage startup, and you’re eager to contribute to help us constantly improve as we grow.
  • And when it comes to how you show up: you’re deeply curious, self-directed, motivated to make an impact, and humble.

A few key qualifications:

  • 4+ years of prior experience as a software product manager
  • Past experience working in technical problems tied to Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams through high quality Agile Delivery
  • Experience as a solutions architect and/or solutions engineering is a plus.
  • Past experience working with customer success, customer experience, sales and design teams
  • Clear thought process and practices to create effective user experiences
  • Depth of technical understanding to define requirements for complex problems (plus: SQL experience strongly preferred)
  • Excellent overall communication skills — both written & verbal
  • Pragmatic approach to solving problems in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Eagerness to work with a distributed team across the US and UK (we’re all available for synchronous meetings at least from 9:30a-12:30p ET)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (1-2x/quarter)

Remote work is the biggest workplace revolution in history. We believe nothing else will deliver a higher quality of life upgrade for people in the next decade. Work has changed already, and companies need to help to both attract talent and create strong connections with employees in this new world. One of the biggest opportunities is in providing the core infrastructure that makes it easy for companies to deliver incredible employee experiences. Firstbase does that today by helping companies setup, manage, maintain and retrieve all the physical equipment remote workers need to do great work at home. While we’re building for businesses, we’re focused on a big mission: enabling a better quality of life for people across the globe by making it easier for everyone to access great jobs and do their best work from anywhere.

We're a fast-growing and fully distributed team — currently spanning from the US West Coast to Turkey — and we take pride in our ability to function as an effective remote-first organization. Our team members have the opportunity to learn and shape what the future of work looks like within our company, not just through our products.

We offer competitive compensation (including salary & equity), full benefits, a full home office setup via Firstbase, and a tight-knit group of people passionate about creating for the future of work.

We’re committed to building a diverse team that reflects and helps us better serve our customers. We strongly encourage you to apply regardless of your location, background, race, gender, sexual orientation or any other personally defining attribute. Think you could make an amazing contribution to our team? We want to hear from you. We’re imperfect communicators, so think of our job postings as the starting point for discussion rather than a reason that you shouldn’t apply. Please take the leap! You might just be the perfect person for one of our open roles, even if you don’t match 100% of the job description.
